The COADM is a passive Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer designed for bidirectional data transmission over a single fiber. It operates within WDM networks to add or drop one or multiple 100 GHz DWDM channels in the C-band, while allowing all other wavelengths to pass through uninterrupted. By leveraging DWDM technology, the BOADM enables efficient network expansion, improves wavelength utilization, and supports longer transmission distances by multiplexing multiple data channels over a single-mode fiber. These modules can add or drop up to 16 channels at any point along the fiber span. Designed for flexibility and scalability, they also include an extended port for guard band and optional customer-defined test ports.
