SKU: HOADM
The HOADM is a passive Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer designed for bidirectional data transmission over a single fiber. It is a high-density optical distribution module designed to manage a specific group of ITU channels while serving as a central routing hub for larger network traffic. Unlike traditional cascaded systems that daisy-chain signals, this architecture fans out a designated wavelength band from a single common point to dedicated “spoke” fibers, ensuring uniform insertion loss and isolated signal paths across the network. The module is flexible in capacity—typically supporting 4, 8, or 16 bidirectional channels—and features a configuration that includes a Common port, an Expansion (EXP) port for cascading additional bands, and a 1% Test Point (TP) for non-intrusive monitoring. By utilizing high-isolation Thin Film Filters and thermally stable dual-collimator designs, it provides a ruggedized, low-crosstalk solution for high-power optical systems requiring centralized and scalable traffic management. It operates within WDM networks to add or drop one or multiple 100 GHz DWDM channels in the C-band, while allowing all other wavelengths to pass through uninterrupted. test ports.
